After hail or a hard wind
Storm Damage Roof Repair in Clarkston
After hail or high wind, you get every hit on your roof marked and photographed, then repaired the right way.
Why Storm Damage Is So Easy to Miss
Hail rarely leaves a hole. What it usually leaves is a bruise: a dark, soft spot where the granules were knocked off and the mat underneath was cracked. From the driveway you cannot see it. From the roof, with good light, you can. Wind is different. It catches the edge of a shingle, lifts it, breaks the seal strip and sometimes folds it back with a crease across the top. The shingle may lie flat again afterward and look fine, but it is no longer stuck down, and the next gust can take it. Both kinds of damage let water in slowly, often months after the storm, which is why so many homeowners never connect the leak to the weather that caused it. Our storm inspection is built to close that gap. We walk each slope, chalk-mark every hail hit inside a test square, check seal strips by hand along the edges and photograph all of it. Downspouts, vents and gutters get checked too, since dents there help show the size of the hail. Then you get a clear answer. A few damaged shingles can often be repaired. Widespread hits usually mean replacement. Fallen limbs from Clarkston's big shade trees happen less often, but when they do, we check the decking beneath for cracks as well.
What a Storm Damage Visit Covers
These are the checks and repairs that come with nearly every storm call.
Test squares on each slope
Hail hits counted within marked areas so the extent of damage is measured, not guessed.
Seal strip checks
Shingle edges lifted gently by hand to find tabs the wind has unstuck.
Crease and crack spotting
Folded or split shingles found and logged, even when they have settled back flat.
Soft metal clues
Dents in vents, gutters and downspouts photographed as supporting evidence of hail size.
Limb impact checks
Where a branch has fallen, the decking below is checked for cracks or punctures.
Dated photo set
Close-ups and wide shots organized by slope, ready to share with your insurer.
Repair or replace answer
A plain explanation of which fix suits the damage, with the reasons behind it.
Matched repairs
Replacement shingles matched as closely as possible and sealed down properly.
From the Storm to a Sound Roof
Call after the weather clears
Tell us when the storm came through and anything you noticed, like granules in the gutters or a shingle on the lawn. We set a daylight inspection.
Mark, measure and photograph
Each slope is walked and every hit is marked and photographed. You get the full photo set and a summary of what we found, slope by slope.
Repair or replace
If the damage is limited, we repair it. If it is widespread, we quote a replacement and, if you choose to file a claim, help document it for your adjuster.
Why Storm Calls Come to Us
Every hit photographed
You see the damage on your own roof, mark by mark, without climbing a ladder.
An honest scale
If the storm missed you, we say so. Not every hailstorm calls for a new roof.
